Rally Day 2009 - Castle Combe - Sat 19 September
 (United Kingdom)
It is that time again.

I am booking a club stand for 6 cars as usual.

This year however I will not be booking 10 track time passes and hoping that they can be sold. This is because last year the club was left with 4 passes that we could not sell either to club members or to anyone else at the circuit. This meant a loss of club money.

Anyone who is interested should contact me ASAP as I need to order passes with the club stand booking.

Thanks

I need some more cars, Nick?????

I will also contact the Munden clan and Martin Clarke.

Not much chance of the Peugeot being there I'm afraid.

Good News Alan! I had forgotten to mention that we had to change the original planned dates for our trip and now return on the 17th! So will be able to bring the Astra along, also will have two track sessions please. Will you have the in-car camera available?

How about that for devotion to duty, rearranging your existing holiday earns you more points that just arranging your holiday around the day.  Consider your place and track passes booked and yes I intend to bring the camera.

Denise and I are starting our holiday on Sunday 20th even thoufg we will have to book our accomadation including the Saturday.  I wanted to go to the Goodwood Revival on the Sunday and go away on the Monday but that idea was quickly crushed.

Thanks Steve.  That is you and Nick (hopefully).  You never know the 306 might make it yet.

Phil Wilkinson confirmed as well now and wants 4 track passes (although he may not get it all).

If anyone else wants track time then they had better book it quickly.

Highly unlikely I'll be there.... no MoT, Tax or Insurance at the mo and unlikely to get it done before (time & Money!)

And I do not really want to hire a Trailer for the day...

Alan Are there any more spaces left on the stand - Dave Attiwell has said he could bring his Mk3 Astra up if space is available. He would not want any track passes.

How are the 306 repairs coming along?

We have 4 cars for the TMC stand.

Steve Conner, Phil Wilkinson, Phil Sprason, Dave Attiwell.

Who from Tavern is going to be there??

Denise and I are missing out on 1 day of our holiday to be there on the Saturday and then it's off to St Ives on the Sunday.

It should be worth coming to see Phils Escort "in the flesh" and doing 2 track sessions hopefully.

I still have 1 paddock pass if someone wants to bring their rally car along.  This comes with 1 free entry ticket otherwise it is about £15 on the gate I think.  It has to be a rally car though.

I also have 2 track passes going for £25 each

Thanks to Alan and Denise for their efforts for the Rally Day.

I enjoyed it although had a heart stopping moment with my off on track caused by a coolant hose letting go big time.

We were able to fix it thanks to Merlin Motorsport and all their samco hoses and Dan drove us back home.

Looking forward to next year.

Re: Rally Day 2009 - Castle Combe - Sat 19 September

A generally good day out.

A successfull debut for Phil Spasons new Millington engined Escort showing the potential of a car with 350bhp+

Steve Conner faster round the circuit than many cars tghat should really expect to be beating him.

Phil Wlkinson loving every minute until a burst water hose causedhim to spin off and retire for the day.

And a busy day on the stand despite us not being in a very central position.

Videos of Phil "smiler" Wilkinson smiling his way through his track session and in-car of Steve as well will be on the website in the next couple of weeks.
