..........WE ARE NOT MEETING AT THE CARPENTERS TAVERN - SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS..................
Okay then, I'm gonna throw a fox in with the chickens... The endurance championship has been announced with the Exmoor included on 9/10th Oct. We had a lot of members out and about on the day so I'd be interested to know any thoughts on how we can improve the event in 2010??
What do you feel we could do better?
What would entice more crews to enter the event? AND what would make them enter early and not leave it until the last couple of weeks??
Do you think we could improve the selectifs to make them more challenging. (I hate cones etc, but we do have to think about speed and safety)
I'm really interested to know the thoughts of everyone. For many it was the first enduro they've been involved in and that is very important.
Run the night section as a Road Rally as well to attract more crews.....
You'll never find an answer to why do people wait until the last minute to enter, unless of course the event is known for being oversubscribed
Free entry for Tavern club members with a user name kemery oh and a car to do it in
This years event was my first taste of endurance rallying and it surprised me how good it looked.I think more people would do them generally if they attended a event and saw for themselves it isnt just about driving around cones and sticking to speed limits which was what i thought they were about.Hopefully being part of the championship and not being the last round when the title has been decided will help for entries.
What feedback did you get from those that did it this year? Did they like the night forest selective would they want more of that?
As for getting early entries maybe you could offer a prize draw of 2 free control tyres or 1/2 entry fee if you enter by August 31st subject to getting 40 entries by then or something like that.
Interesting stuff... Thanks!
I would very much welcome a lot of those ideas. I think the road rally idea is a good one (and it was spoken about). I would also like to see a few further selectifs in the dark - Dad and I both wanted a trip through Croydon (main block) in the middle of the road rally, but unfortunately the route didn't really make it possible.
Keep the comments coming...
