..........WE ARE NOT MEETING AT THE CARPENTERS TAVERN - SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS..................
As title, it would be nice to hear what events / championships Tavern members will be doing,or aiming to do next year.
Although BT and I will almost certainly register for CMSG again I would like to try a few new events - thinking of maybe a trip to Flanders and also one of the Epynt rallies if I can find a co-driver who has been there a few times. And of course few Enduro rallies as these are really such good fun and excellent value for money.
Although there is still nothing confirmed regarding the final positions in the 2010 CMSG championship there will be a number of us collecting awards so who is going to the awards evening on 14th Jan?
Just sent off a HUGE cheque to register for the BRC and shall be doing the Fiesta Championship which runs with it. Unfortunately we won't be doing all the rounds as the number of non-mainland events means we don't have enough holiday to do them all if we want to do RallyGB again. Which we do!
It would be nice to see some Tavern crews up at the Jim Clark. Closed public roads in the UK, mmmmm, go on, you know you want to......
I'd certainly love to do it Tim and although I would be happy to take the Astra up I guess it would be well outside my budget. Maybe you could give me some info on what it costs in total to do this event, excluding the car and tyres. And how much time we would need off work.
Wonder if BT might be interested.............
Motorsport News had all teh champiohship top5/6 positions last week showing another Tavern Sweep in CMSG and I see Phil Sprason won the Mark Lovell Stage Rally Chamionship...
As for 2011, I'm hoping my shoulder will have the movement and strength back by April to compete again so we will hopefully be doing a handful of events from April Onwards. (subject to work and finance of course!)
Plus my friends (Nick & Tom) who have been rallying a Rover 200 have now bought a Mk1 Escort so I will be servicing for them, their first event being the Bovington Stages in March and I'll help out any club members with Servicing if I can help when needed.....
Other than that we'll be out Marshalling as usual at the Somerset and Down Ampney etc I suspect, as I know Sarah would like to get out a bit more this year (we're already arranging Baby sitting cover so she can come out to the Fat Albert this year!).
We might go spectating (if not needed for marshalling or servicing) on the Wyedean .... especially as Alex wants to go and see fast cars in the woods !
