If anyone is interested there are a few pic's on my events page on my website, nothing to special the best one being the 'Clarks' in the MG .
Well done to everyone taking part and Well done to Nick for organising his first 12 Car.
What we need is one of our many competitors to put a report on the Intranet. Steve Conner won (well equal first) so how about it Steve???
Briefly, no one who attended the Workshops competed at all, two teams from the pub started but did not finish, there were 3 equal winners, Hugh was marshalling but in the wrong place and bent his Cortina steering, Densie and I did a TC (the first time on a 12 car), the Tavern clocks batteries were all flat so we used our own watches and mobile phones etc resulting in a few timing problems, because it was very much a novice event the timing was fairly lax which resulted in Neil Thomas (co driving for BT) saying "We were so early at some time controls that I thought we would finish yesterday".
All in all it was an excellent night, more members at the pub than you could count and everyone went home happy.
Well done Nick, roll on the next one on 10 December. Whoops "roll"!!!. Badly phrased, sorry
I attended the workshops but sadly forgot everything we were told.
I will put a report on later, but briefly here is what happened.
10 cars started,7 cars finished. Some cars got lost but most didnt. They tried to trick us by giving us the wrong map reference for TC3! Then they played their trump card by paying the farmer to walk his cows down the lane when we were making up time.
All in all good fun and i learnt alot.Definitely do the next one.
Maybe Nick you could put the results on here with any stories/excuses(our friends from the pub)and what happened to Hugh.
Sorry Keith, I should have said that no non members who attended the Workshops did the 12 car.
