Somerset Stages
 (United Kingdom)

So, how many crews will be out on the event then? I see a few on the entries page of the website. Mine's in with Julian Wilkes- but only if his new arrival, wilkes junior doesn't arrive before the day....cutting it fine, but worth a shot. Would be great to battle with Lee who's entry with Steve Sproat is in. Are Tavern running Chargot as per usual??

If you get Julian to slow down a bit we'll have a battle with you....
Actually we just want to get to the end of Stage 1 this year. That'd be nice.

1st Car 13.28    running anti clockwise 2 consecutive runs. It will be a lot quicker this year as the forestry have been in and filled in some of the potholes, down fall is they have also pulled out a lot of trees.

Quote from chief marshal so don't shoot me if it's wrong

Re: Somerset Stages

We were discussing this over the weekend.
We are running the finish control at Chargot.

1st car is due at 13.28 so latest signing on will be 12.15.
They will be running anti clockwise, 2 consecutive runs. It will be a lot quicker this year as the forestry have been in and filled in some of the potholes, down fall is they have also pulled out a lot of trees.
Please tell everyone that they are invited back to Butlins in the evening for the prize giving, but over 18's only as it is an adult week-end that Butlins are holding. Access will only be available to marshals wearing there id badge or wrist bands that will be provided.

Can you tell us if you are attending or not so we have some ideal of numbers.
Trevor & Sue on holiday, Brian Thomas, Will Rutherford, Lee Harding  completing.

Re: Somerset Stages

Sadly we won't be visiting you guys in the woods this weekend. Julians baby arrived last sunday and is doing very well, but he just doesn't have time to finish the preparation on the car so sadly we won't be out. Im really pleased for him and the new arrival, but can't pretend im not frustrated at not being in what I believe to be our 'home' event. May see you there for other reasons but not sure yet whether the trip from Guernsey is worthwhile (bloody expensive!!). If I don't see you, have a great day, best of luck to Lee (Tavern honours are down to you in the 1400's mate!), and also to brian. Have a good 1!!

No pressure then!!  Shame you're not out Will as I was looking forward to a day of banter! Looks like its all baby seats instead of Bucket seats for Mr Wilkes!!

Re: Somerset Stages

Tavern's finish crew had a very dusty  dry day     at the finish of Chargot, Hugh and I did flying finish,  Dave S, Dave and son, Phil (aka Nailsea Pete) and Maureen the cake were on the clocks Good day no rain and even had a few crews stop for a chat until we told them the clock was down the road

Well done Lee (Don't peeper us with stones next time) I think both Jim and Simon finished but not sure about Brian Thomas with Don

Email from BT
Hi Guys,
Sorry we didn't make it as far as you on Saturday. Same old problem, sat in a queue for Stage 6 Whitts (the one at the back of Dons house) and it would not pull away from the line.  It wasn't early enough to come down and help either. Denise's fault for giving me an 'excused marshalling' chit.
Know of anyone looking for a 'sack of spuds'
Regards
BT.
