Re: Fat Albert

I'm changing the CWP in my car ...if I change to the gearkit Iwould like would give me more top speed (about 125)

I could, then again if I spend the money on a gear kit there willbe none left for events........

Re: Fat Albert
 (United Kingdom)

Thanks for that offer Keith.

We are hoping to get a contractor in to do the bulk of the work for us on Friday evening but he is being very difficult to contact.

If there is no contraxctor then there will be a lot of work but even if the contractor does come there will still be a fair amount of work with spades and bruches to get the surface prepared.

So you help would be appreciated either way.

I am guessing that we will get to the airfiled at about 18:00 but this is not confirmed yet and it will take 1-2 hours with the contractors help and a long time if he is not there.

Re: Fat Albert

A big THANK YOU to everyone invloved in running The Fat Albert.

The amount of people helping out on Friday was impressive, that and another succesful running of the event (best yet?) make me very proud to be chairman of Tavern Motor Club.

It's not fair to single anyone out, so I will single out four people!
Trevor as CoC, Nick as deputy Coc and logistics guru, Steve in getting a record number of marshals signed on and Mike Smith of RAFMSA for galvanising his team to make it a true co-promoted  event. However, as we all know, it is an army of people who make it work, you know who you are and again,

THANK YOU.

I think we are proud to be members of TMC who must now run one of the best tarmac single venue events in the country.

I agree,What a cracker! Everyone seemed to be having a good time - the event had a great atmosphere about it.Even the weather was better than expected - a real bonus.

The stages were very interesting, I think maximum use was made of the 'nadgery bit' - and the run across the old trailer park to avoid using the narrow concrete loop for the last four stages was a good move.

Thanks again to everyone involved in the running of the event, and to all the marshals who stood out all day in the sun so that we competitors could enjoy ourselves. Really pleased to have finished in the top 20 with the Golf, which ran without any problems all day.

Re: Re: Fat Albert
 (United Kingdom)

I have seen in car clips from Simon Munden, Hugget in and Escort, Ellis in an Escort and Steve Furzeland and only Furzeland had a problem and then only one the first time round (clockwise).

I think the problem lies with the small FWD cars with tight diffs and no power steering which just cannot get the lock on quickly enough.  Strangely this is the type of car we thought we were helping by putting the tight bits in.  Julian said that it was bad in the morning but running clockwise he had more of a run at and could use the hand brake.

I think that it should be opened out a bit next year but not too much.

Re: Re: Fat Albert

Agreed ....

allow more entry speed when in the morning direction (anti clockwise SS1-6) but keep it as a 1st gear corner....

Re: Re: Fat Albert

up to you but the in-car DVD I have is not all that great.

Some of the clips make my in car look like a proffesional job in comparison.
