The Tavern Village was set up at Colorne yesterday.  TMC Marshals were out in force and photos will be on web when i find out how to do it.The Start Crew included Dave M, Dave S, Brian T, JD and Mrs JD complete with hospitality caravan, Phil & Maureen with the big blue marshal shelter, Trevor & Sue on Radio and Dave Morgan & Friend arrvived late because DS is getting old.  . Mark Chapman, Steve Conner and Ed Clark with dad Martin in the co drivers seat were flying the competitors flag for Tavern. A Great day out with only a little rain shower now and again just to keep us on our toes.

Re: Azimghur Stages

Sure was a great day. Thanks to all the Tavern marshals and good to see JD and Jenny out as well. We did not stay on for the final results and awards as my co-driver had to get back so I have just checked the results which are:-

Mark Chapman 13th o/a 2nd i/c,missing out on the class win by just 17secs.

Steve Conner 29th o/a 9th i/c after a bit of drama on the first stage when all gears except 3rd and 4th became unobtainable. We managed to get round without losing too much time thanks to the new lower final drive ratio and close ratio gearkit combined with the completely standard engines torque - just amazed me how it pulled around the hairpin turns in 3rd gear! Trying to keep up with 007 after he passed was great fun as well!

Ed and Martin Clark finished 55th o/a 8th in class after a maximum on stage 7 dropped them down a few places. Not sure if it was due to a car problem or possibly getting one of the splits wrong? Is this the first time ever that our President has sat in the hot seat?

Really looking forward now to Fat Albert !
