Bloody Hell!
Makes me proud to be Chairman.
I think Kit, me & Will let the side down a bit on the Pirelli
Sure was a good event for Tavern. Lets not forget the stage starts were manned by Tavern's Denise, Dave Smailes, BT, Dave M, Phil B and Maureen. And Hugh Currell was out servicing for Roger / JD (and was kept busy all day!) So almost half the club was there!
I was a little surprised to find we were running inside the top ten from the start but the conditions were very much to my liking as, like Mark Chapman I just love the wet and slippery surfaces - I have never had so much fun anywhere else setting the Astra up sideways before almost every corner! The car was once again enjoying it all and apart from putting fuel in and checking the usual things we did not need to do anything to it all day. The new EBC Yellowstuff 4000R brake pads which were fitted just before Caerwent (and gave me great cause for concern on that event! ) are now well bedded in and stop the car very well.
Roll on Longcross on 10th May - are any other Tavern crews apart from me with BT, and Mark Chapman going up?
To add to all the success at Down Ampney, Martin Clark/Bob Rutherford finished a very credible 4th overall on the Great Bustard endurance rally
yep, jim and myself are entered also
