..........WE ARE NOT MEETING AT THE CARPENTERS TAVERN - SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS..................
We're heading up to Kelso tomorrow in preparation for the recce on Thursday. Stages look great - plenty of jumps and tricky sections to catch out the unawares! I see that Kit and Tim are on the entry list Can't wait now
Well done on the 3rd o/a in the Challenge Will - good result.
I assume you flew in & out of Edinburgh airport rather than put up with the 6 hour drive up the motorway.
Not sure what was more nerve wracking - doing our first tarmac rally for 2 1/2 years or Kit driving my A5 as a recce car All was fine until we came across a 300 yard section of what we oldtimers would call a rough white!
Disappointed to retire with a suspected broken diff, but we did 100 superb miles. For a couple of blokes who don't do tarmac we could change our minds - just got to get Kit to stop trying to unsettle the back as if we were on gravel!!
Big shame about your retirement Tim.
We're quite pleased with our result. The car wasn't very good at all on the bumpy stages as the forest strusts are still on the car....but it's great to finally get a result this year!
Sadly the guernsey airlines don't think about my rally schedule so it was a 6 hour drive each way before and after flights. But worth it! We now need to win the double points scoring round weekend in Ulster (Aug) and it will be a showdown on the Trackrod.
Tim, nice photo of the Fiesta in MN this week.......
I missed that!!!
Thanks for pointing it out, didn't really expect us to feature as we retired. You can just about see the hotel we were staying in in the background too.
Its not what you know its who you know
Nice photo though.I missed it as well.
Disappointed to retire with a suspected broken diff,
Turns out to be two broken (uprated) drive shafts!!!!!!!
Well that's better than a broken diff !
