..........WE ARE NOT MEETING AT THE CARPENTERS TAVERN - SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS..................
Hi all,
I wanted to bring attention to the new exmoor endurance website. Martin has asked me to build a simple website to help promote the event. Before I go 'live' with the site, I wanted to get feedback from Tavern members and give everyone the chance to give their thoughts.
www.exmoorendurancerally.com
I know at present the site is very bare. Martin is currently writing a new update, and we are waiting news from accomodation etc, so hopefully these additions will give the site some depth. Please let me know what you think.
Many thanks,
I see a certain S Conner of Tavern MC has entered.
What car are you doing it in Steve?
Have the ex-Dave Smailes 205 Rallye - funny how it found its way back to Bristol from Oxford after 18 months....
Still a few things to get done like putting the lines inside and fitting some enduro-spec tyres. Shouldn't take too long to get ready and I'm really looking forward to the daylight forest sections and the runs up Porlock - not driven them since the Somerset Stages 1986!
The night section should be good fun as well - navi Mark (Milton) has not done a night rally for over 20 years! We'll probably get lost.
Well done Steve for being the first Tavern crew entered!!
40 entries received which is great news!
Only 3 weeks to go now. Martin's worked incredibly hard to get the event to where it is. So who's coming down??
Denise and I will be there day and night.
I hope you have booked the good weather Will
Do we know who has the Tavern MC banner? Could we organise for someone to meet up with Dad and give it to him so that we can get it put up at Doniford Bay for the weekend???
Any thoughts?
You could try Dave Milkins, he usually carries it but there is another one somewhere as well.
I have both banners at the moment as Dave Milkins gave us the new one for the Rally Day a couple of weeks ago.
I am sure something can be sorted out this weekend or it can be at the Motor Club on Monday
Let me know Will or get your dad to give me a call - 07778 923064
Have your sorted how I am going to get the banner to your dad? As I said I could take it up to Dundry on Monday.
Hi Alan,
I sent dad an email telling him to get in contact with you to arrange picking up the banner. I've since realised he's in Rome! Doh. I'll have to chase him at the end of the week and he'll have to come out your way to collect it I guess.
Unless we know of any other tavern member who is planning to go to Doniford Bay??? Or could take the banner from you tonight as they are based more locally to Bristol which would make it easier for dad to collect at the end of the week???
It is in the car ready to go to the Motor Club tonight. I hopefully will pass it on to JD
JD has the banner. He is staying in his caravan From Friday afternoon right next door to Doniford so I am sure it can all be sorted out now.
Over to you Will
Have spoken to JD and it's all sorted Thanks for sorting it.
Look forward to seeing many Tavern members out and about tomorrow. Going to be in the Wilkes 'mum wagon' zafira doing clocks so we'll see you about 1 hr before 1st car hopefully!
Best of luck and thanks to you all in advance
Let's all have fun!
How many Taverners it total where out on Saturday including organisors, marshals, competitors and speccies even?
Was it as many or more than a Fat Albert weekend?
Big write up in Motorsport News. NOT
I didnt know what to expect from the day and thought it would be boring but was quite surprised how good it was.The night stage was good.
I am tempted to have a go myself next year but will probably forget this idea quite soon.
