..........WE ARE NOT MEETING AT THE CARPENTERS TAVERN - SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS..................
Another good event at Caerwent with all the Tavern entries except one finishing. Only 56 of the 100 starters making it to the finish! Jim & Dave were 6th/2nd, Martin & Bob 23rd/4th, Rob & Shaun 26th/3rd, and myself with BT 30th/10th after losing nearly three mins driving over 4 miles with a flat front tyre after striking some concrete blocks placed on the inside of a corner to stop drivers cutting! We decided there would be less time lost to drive slower to the finish than stop to change it, as the tyre was nearly worn out anyway. It cost ten places though. I knew I should have gone to Specsavers !
Mark Chapman had a moment with a kerb which re-arranged the rear tracking somewhat, but after sorting that out retired soon after with a blown engine.
There was the usual close stage times between Martin,Rob and Steve, with any pair either tying on time or being just a second or two apart on each of the seven stages which were all over ten miles in length.
With just one more round to go in the CMSG championship, Rob & Shaun have already secured class D, and Steve 2nd class C. Brian Thomas is presently 2nd class C co-driver, but could win the class with a good result at Longcross in November.
