Welcome to Tavern Motor Club. 

Tavern Motor Club has been involved in Rallying in all it's forms for over 40 years. 
There are many ways to be involved in Motorsport
We currently have competitors in National Special Stage, Road Rally and Sprint Championships.
We also supply marshals to many events usually as start or finish crews.

This site is interactive allowing club members to enter data onto the site directly in the form of News/Announcements, a Forum and other ways as well.  The site is continuously changing and being developed.

Tavern crews/co-drivers - 13/5 in April and already 15/1 scheduled or competed in May.........

Introduction

Tavern Motor Club is based around Rallying. We have competitors taking part at all levels of Rallying both in Britain and abroad.

Being an active club, Tavern Motor Club members are regularly out and about helping to organise events both local and further afield.

Tavern Motor Club has recently supplied Start/Finish Control Crews to The Wales Rally of Great Britain, The Somerset Stages, The Wyedean Rally and Brean Stages as well as many other events.

Tavern Motor Club was started in 1963 by a group of Rallying enthusiasts many of whom are still involved in Motorsport and Tavern motor Club.

Somerset Stages - Sunday, April 27, 2008
What a fantastic result for Simon Munden and John Leigh finishing 23rd overall and 5th in class from a start number of 60.  Jim Munden and Dave Perrot seemed to have a difficult day and ended up OTL.  Lee Harding co driving for Steve Sproat finished 44th overall and 6th in class.  Andy Frost co driving for Nick Baker had to retire with an engine blow up.  This is Andys last event before goint to Australia for two years on Monday. 
Pirelli International - Sunday, April 20, 2008
Kit & Tim Leigh took part in their 50th event and their first International event on 18/19 April. With various problems on Friday (they are now firm favourites for the MSA Balls Up award at next years annual dinner and awards do!!), taking benefit of Super Rally rules they finished 23rd overall and 5th in class over the challenging Kielder stages.
The season to date is: Finishes 3, M Sport £5,000.

Mark Chapman and Steve Lillis             1st Class B and 4th Overall

Dave Attiwell and Keith Emery            1st Class C and 7th Overall

Steve Conner and Shaun Harding        2nd Class C and 9th Overall

R Baker! and Nick Baker(not related)   3rd Class C and 12th Overall

Dave Perrot and Lee Harding on for good class result until problems but still finished

Andy Frost and John Leigh should of got spirit of the rally award for refusing to give up dispite a multitude of problems blown head gasket,miss fire and snapped clutch cable even robbing our transit van clutch cable just to finish the last stage.

Finally thanks to the Tavern Marshal Crew for all their hard work.

 
Red Dragon - Sunday, April 06, 2008

Losing about a minute with two overshoots on the first three stages took the pressure off Alan and Denise in the afternoon and with no real mistakes they were surprised at the finish to find that they had won B10 by over 2 minutes.
Bad luck to the other two Tavern MC crews Jim Munden/Andy Frost cracked the Escorts sump on the rough downhill section on SS4 and Simon Munden/John Leigh blew a turbo on their Subaru on SS2.

 
Border Counties - Sunday, April 06, 2008
Kit and Tim trekked up to Jedburgh for the Border Counties Rally on 5th April which used Wauchope, Falstone, Ogre Hill and Harwood in Kielder Forest. The weather changed from bright sun to rain to snow and back to sun again.
After a slow start they picked up speed and were fighting it out with the other 2wd ANCRO competitors, just 8 seconds off 2nd 2wd going into the final stage.
Unfortunately 5 miles from the end of the 15 miler a drive shaft went but they managed to limp out and get it back to the finish to collect their first in class award. However, exiting that stage they had to dodge marshals dismantling the stage and a convoy of marshals cars driving out.

Rallye Sunseeker - Monday, February 25, 2008
Kit & Tim Leigh were out at the weekend in their Fiesta on the Sunseeker Rally, despite loosing second gear in the afternoon they had a great time and really enjoying themselves and pleased with the new car. Finishing a very respectable 39O/A and 2nd in class Well Done read their full story HERE.  Also out in sunny Bournemouth were Sue & Trevor on the Radio and Steve Eccles spectating.
