THE EXMOOR TARGA RALLY
Welcome to the 2018 Exmoor Targa Road Rally organised by Tavern Motor Club with support from Burnham-on-Sea and Minehead Motor Clubs.
Following the success of last year’s Exmoor Targa, we have increased the mileage to over 40 miles of top quality gravel tracks on Forestry Commission land and the tarmac of Porlock Toll Road.
The Entry Fee remains the same at £175, which also includes an evening meal at the Finish.
The Special Tests will be joined by 90 miles of link sections and one Petrol Halt. The whole route has been recently driven in a standard BMW 525, although sumpguards are recommended!
The event is a round of the ASWMC Targa Road Rally Championship – contenders should enter one of the National B classes to score points. Registered contenders can also score points by marshalling.
The event will be based at Raleghs Cross Inn, about 30 minutes from Taunton (Junction 25 on the M5). Trailer parking will also be provided at Raleghs Cross.
The first car will leave at 11.00 for 3 Special Tests on Forestry Commission land, followed by 2 runs of Porlock Toll Road before returning to Raleghs Cross for a late lunch
The same Special tests will be rerun in the afternoon before competitors return to the finish at Raleghs Cross around 17.30. A hot meal provided, allowing competitors to socialise while waiting for the results.
The event will run under a National B Targa Road Rally permit allowing any 2WD Road Rally cars to compete. (4WD cars will not be allowed).
To keep the landowners happy, Road Rally cars will be subject to safety and tyre restrictions, this year only road tyres or winter tyres will be allowed (see Regulations for more details).
For the novice there will be a Clubman event open to any member of Tavern Motor Club (temporary membership is available).
Competitors are not required to bring a marshal, but to encourage more marshals, we are again offering a £10 discount / cashback to any crew who provides a marshal for the day (see Regulations for more details).
Please visit the Competitors page for Regulations and links to the Online Entry System, which will be available shortly.
We all look forward to seeing you on the 27th October.
